College Fairs

A free program for the public since 1972, the WACAC College Fairs and NACAC College Fairs allow students to interact with admission representatives from a wide range of non-profit and postsecondary institutions. They have the opportunity to discuss course offerings, admission and financial aid requirements, college life, and other information pertinent to the college selection process. WACAC College Fairs take place in conjunction with NACAC College Fairs in Northern California, Southern California, and Nevada. NACAC College Fairs are also held throughout the United States.

High School students, Parents, and counselors

The Western Association for College Admission Counseling (WACAC) is pleased to announce college fairs in California and Nevada for high school students, their parents, and high school counselors. All of WACAC’s fairs are FREE to attend and include FREE parking. Come speak to representatives from over 100 colleges from all around the world.  Learn more about everything that the schools have to offer so that you can find your best-fit school.

Prior to attending a WACAC College Fair, students and parents should register for a barcode at www.StriveFair.com. Show your barcode to colleges who will scan it to easily get your information and send you more details about their school, the application process, financial aid, and important deadlines. The day after the fair, you will receive a report with information on the colleges with whom you scanned.

Step 1: Go to www.StriveFair.com and fill out the registration form. You’ll get a reminder with your barcode again two hours before the fair.

Step 2: At the fair, show this barcode to colleges. They’ll scan it to get your information.

The next day, you’ll get a report with information about all of the colleges that scanned your barcode. You’ll also start receiving information directly from the colleges.

College & University Guidelines

WACAC College Fair exhibitors play a major role in the success of each of our programs. The Executive Board of the Western Association for College Admission Counseling (WACAC), along with members of the local planning committee are responsible for creating a professional and safe environment for the delivery of WACAC’s College Fair program.

WACAC College Fair Exhibitor Rules and Regulations:

• Our college fairs are for two- and four-year colleges and universities that are regionally accredited. On a space-available basis, we may accommodate some non-profit organizational members who assist students with the transition from high school to college. WACAC reserves the right to refuse the registration of any institution or organization. Independent counselors and/or educational consultants are not eligible. Non-profits who would like to exhibit, should reach out to the College Fair Chair before registering to see if accommodations can be made.
• Representatives must present clear and accurate information concerning their institution or agency while avoiding ambiguous, questionable, or false information about competing institutions and agencies.
• Only full-time admissions officers, institutional representatives, delegated salaried school officials, or trained alumni shall represent schools or agencies during WACAC programs. Use of current students or recruits during WACAC fairs will not be allowed.
• Representatives are expected to be on time and stay until the program has been completed.
• Representatives are expected to follow the cancellation policy. In the event of an emergency, the representative scheduled for the event has the responsibility of contacting the host coordinator as soon as the representative knows he or she will be unable to attend. Registration fees are non-transferable.
• Promotional giveaways (including raffles and drawings) and gimmick items (including, but not limited to, shopping bags, t-shirts, buttons, key chains, stickers, posters, decals, etc.) are strictly prohibited. Appropriate items to distribute to students include brochures, catalogs, pens, pencils, and other literature pertaining to the institution.
• One piece of visual equipment will be permitted per table as long the power source is self-contained. WACAC and/or the host site will not provide electricity, batteries, extension cords, etc. The Audio-visual equipment should not interfere with other exhibitors.
• Representatives may represent only one institution or agency and must agree not to recruit students for another institution.
• Recruitment is restricted to behind the parameters of the table.
• Tables are restricted to two representatives per table.
• Representatives are required to dress in business or business casual (no t-shirts or blue jeans) for all programs.
• In order to minimize problems of congestion and blocked visibility, displays cannot exceed or obstruct the view of adjacent tables and should be no larger than 6ft high x 3ft wide. Tablecloths or drops are permitted.

Failure to adhere to these guidelines will result in your institution being asked to vacate your table at the WACAC fair.

NACAC College Fairs
