Well, the Local Advisory Committee met earlier this month, and we are working hard to make San Diego the best NACAC conference yet!
The Special Events Committee, one of the six Advisory Committees, gets to do the fun stuff for the conference. We are known as the party people as we plan and run the Welcome Reception and the Saturday night Social. So, if you like to gather in cheer with your colleagues, please consider volunteering at these events. We need happy faces to direct others to the food, drinks, and fun activities, all while enjoying the music and environment. The toughest question you might be asked is about where the dessert table is, or the restroom. So join the Special Events Committee volunteers!
San Diego will provide a great back drop to show case our hospitality and the beauty of our State.
The Saturday Night Social will be a huge Gaslamp Block Party, we will take over sections of J Street in the lively Gaslamp District of San Diego, just steps from the convention center and hotels. Jolt’n Joes and Dicks Last Resort will serve as our anchor venues for the good-times.
The Welcome Reception will feature the flavors of San Diego, mariachi music and great Mexican food.
The annual NACAC 5 K will take place along the beautiful Embarcadero right behind the Convention Center. So in the spirit of work hard play hard, plan on a little healthy out-door activity during the conference.
